We are the champions!

Yet another brilliant performance from our young athletes, at Colwyn Bay on Saturday 16th July,
resulted in a third successive match win in the Youth Development League Division North West 4.

As a result the team were not only promoted to Division 3 but finished the season as champions!

 Club Mile Championships

This year’s club mile championships will be held at Timperley on Tuesday September 13th.

Races will commence at 7.15pm with the under 11 girls followed by the under 11 boys. These may be run as one race dependant on the number of entries. Next up will be the under 13 girls followed by the under 13 boys. Again these may be run as one race depending on entries.

Finally the under 15s and seniors will race together in one race possibly split in to 2 races men and women.

 Please register for your numbers by 7.00pm if possible paricularly the under 11s and under 13s. (don’t forget your pins!)

 Your usual track fee will be your entry fee for the races.

 Please make every effort to support this longstanding annual club event

Run with Alty – Wednesday Evening Run

7:30 – 8:30 pm on Wednesday from Timperley Recreation Ground, Park Road, Timperley WA15 6UA

This run is FREE and OPEN TO EVERYONE (age 16+) with some running experience

**The first run will be on Wednesday 25th May 2016**

Have you completed the ‘Couch to 5K’ programme and are not sure what to do next? Have you run a 5K or 10K race and would like to improve your time or run a half marathon in the future? Do you run by yourself but would like to run with others?

The Wednesday evening run will help you improve as a runner whatever your level. The run will be led by an England Athletics qualified Run Leader who will welcome you to the group and make sure that the run is within your capabilities. We ask that you have some running experience before joining us – you should be able to run for 20 minutes nonstop at whatever pace. If you are a completer beginner we suggest that you start the ‘Couch to 5K’ programme (http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx) but don’t wait until you can run 5K before coming along!

Altrincham & District Athletic Club is based near the centre of Timperley Village.

Founded in 1961 we are a small and friendly club and welcome athletes of all disciplines. We have fully qualified coaches in all disciplines. Keep fit enthusiasts, joggers, speed walkers and beginners are also welcomed.

Chayce Smith

Club Record For Chayce

At the Trafford AC Open meeting on Tuesday 28th July at Longford Park, 15 year old Chayce Smith won her 400m heat in a time of 57.90s, beating two U20 and an U23 athletes in the process. Her time breaks the existing U16 Girls Club Record previously held by Carolyn Kenyon, who ran a time

Sam Clarke

Sam represents Team GB in Argentina

Sam Clarke is a 23 year old kidney transplant survivor who was selected to represent Team GB at the World Transplant Games in Argentina in August. Week night sessions are arranged on different nights and earlier on some Tuesdays and Thursdays by individual coaches and some Saturday morning sessions are arranged at the track and at John Leigh Park by arrangement between coaches and individual athletes.
