This popular half marathon, which was cancelled due to ice in 2015, managed to go ahead this year despite the first snow of the year falling on the eve of the race.

Of the 2183 who entered the race there were 1722 finishers, the first being Michael Kallenberg of Cardiff AC in 1.07.06. The first lady finisher was Gemma Connolly of St Helens Sutton AC
in 1.22.45.
First home for Altrincham was Bev Ganose, who finished inside the first 300 and was second lady over 50.
Despite running in the cross country league at Heaton Park the previous day, Brad Johnson improved his personal best by 8 minutes. Gordon Nicoll also had a good run, finishing just a minute in front of David Vaughan who also set a new personal best.
Margaret Bullock ran well to hold off Tom Lavin, pictured finishing strongly below, who improved on all four of the half marathons he ran last year. Mark Whitfield‟s attempt to go under two hours for the first time was achieved with more than four minutes to spare.
