The mile is a magic distance and that first 4 minute mile in 1954 holds a special place in British athletics history. Of course, many athletes have dipped under that barrier since. This includes one Altrincham athlete, Matt Barnes.
Now the challenge is on to see how close our juniors can get to that dream time. If Matt’s time seems a little out of reach, how about my much more modest attempt of 4:57?
