Altrincham & District Athletic Club present the
TRAFFORD 10km ROAD RACE
SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2018, 9:30am START

Thank you for your entry to the Trafford 10k.  Please take note of the following important information:

Numbers and chips:

Your race number can be found on the entry list, on the Altrincham & District AC website,

Trafford 10k Entry Lists

You will need to go the Registration Desk inside the Sports Hall at Partington Leisure Centre, and quote this number to obtain your race number and running chip.  Full address for race HQ is Partington Leisure Centre, Chapel Lane, Partington, Manchester, M31 4ES.  If you have ordered a race T-Shirt, this will be issued with your chip and number.  If you have ordered a finishers medal, this will be included in your goody bag.  Without your chip/number you will not be permitted to finish the race and will not be included in the race results.  Chip and number collection is available between 08:00 and 09:15. Numbers should be secured safely to the front of your kit using safety pins (please bring your own pins). Please do not give or sell your number/chip to anybody as this can cause  problems when producing the results.

Directions/Parking:

We are expecting in excess of 900 runners and ask runners to car share where possible. The race is easily accessed from both junction 8 of the M60, and junction 7 of the M56. There are 2 race car parks. Car Park 1 at Broadoak School, just off the A6144 Warburton Rd (please note this Car Park will be closed from 9:00am and for the duration of the race). Car Park 2 is located on Moss Lane, Partington just near the junction of Russell Road. There is a tarmac path leading to Chapel Lane just near the Leisure Centre entrance (this Car Park is approximately 800m from the race Start and will close at 9:15am). The leisure centre car park will be closed to accommodate the race finish.  Leisure Centre postcode is M31 4ES.

Changing showers and toilets: Available at the leisure centre. There are a limited number of coin operated lockers available but you are advised to store your kit in your car if possible.

First Aid: Mersey Medical Services (formerly Manchester Medical Services) will be in attendance

Refreshments: There will be Hot Drinks Vehicle selling refreshments available on the day

MP3 Players and iPods: On the grounds of health and safety and duty of care to all runners, the use of personal music equipment is not permitted either warming up before the race, during the race or warming down after the race. Thank you.

Course:

The course has been measured and certified to be an accurate 10km.  The race has been remeasured for 2018.  The route is flat, one lap, mostly on quiet country lanes. Road closures will be in operation across the entire course, although a traffic free course cannot be guaranteed. Runners must obey marshals instructions at all times and be prepared to stop if told to do so. There is a drinks station just after 5km, drinks will also be available at the finish.

The Start: Level with the first bollard on the right at Mallow Walk, just before the junction of Chapel Lane and Cross Lane West. Start is at 9:30am, please arrive early, ready changed.

Results: Computerised results will be available as soon as possible on the day. These will be displayed on https://altrincham-athletics.co.uk and http://www.chiptiming.co.uk/results/

Presentation of prizes: Will take place in the sports hall.  There a full range of prizes for all categories.

Warming Up: In the interests of your safety please do not warm up on the race course prior to the start of the race.
The roads will still be open, with many of the lanes being quite narrow and national speed limit.
The map to the right shows local roads within a residential area close to the start and Sports Village complex.
The warm up route is on open public roads traffic speeds should 30mph or less, please use pavements where possible and beware of other road users and pedestrians.
