He facilitates fun, challenging and engaging activities based around the 365 run/jump/throw England Athletics curriculum.

His sessions are always lively and interactive creating an engaging atmosphere for the children. He has a unique, gentle and jokey style with the athletes which works well to motivate them to acheive their very best. This is extremely effective as his runners have won the John Leigh Park school cross country series, won Sportshall Athletics events and have been selected for Trafford Schools and Greater Manchester teams. Lately, his juniors have also won the Sale Harriers Crossford Bridge cross country series. Vinny also coaches successful local football teams and is a capable runner himself including at marathon distance.

Adam Bellis

Adam qualified as an Athletics Coach (level 2) in 2024 and specialises in the sprint events. Adam has been training and competing in athletics since he was 8 years old and has a wealth of experience in track & field athletics. He continues to compete at Masters level in all the sprint distances, but specializes in the 400m. Adam has won several national age group titles as well as medalling in two European Masters Championships.

The Sprints group train on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6-7pm) with Adam currently taking the Tuesday session. Training is based on the England Athletics Development Pathway and aims to cover the transition from ‘Foundation’ to ‘Event Group’ in sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps and throws.

The sprints group is a mixed group of junior athletes ranging from U14 (year 7-8) through to U18. The sessions can be tailored to suit all abilities and involve a combination of general conditioning, technical drills, speed and power development and event-specific training for running events up to 800m. We also try to include some optional field event training for hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin.

Athletes in the sprint group will aim to compete indoors over the winter in Sports Hall athletics (for ages up to under 16) or indoor athletics events (U16 and up). Summer competitions include track and field athletics leagues, ‘open’ competitions, plus County and Schools Championships.

Bill Egan

As an experienced runner, Bill has an affinity for the outdoors and loves all forms of off-road running. However, speed work is an essential part of any runner’s diet, and the track is a safe place to practice speed play.

“As a coach I enjoy sharing my love of running, helping people to get started and working with them to achieve their own goals is epic.”

Wednesday sessions are aimed at adult runners and fitness runners, who are looking to maintain fitness, improve times and/or add a structured session to their running.

Sessions are held at Timperley track every Wednesday evening at 7.15 pm. Athletes should be warmed up and ready to go. Most of the group are not club members, although members are welcome to join us. The emphasis is on taking part in each session at your pace whilst working towards your own goals, we are not Olympians, so don’t be scared to come along, once you are through the gate we promise a warm welcome.

£3 track fees are payable trackside at the start of each session.
