A CASC in the United Kingdom is an amateur sports club eligible for favourable treatment for taxation purposes, with some similarities to charitable status. ADAC was incorporated on 17.02.2015 following legal advice associated with registering as a CASC and rewriting the club constitution. This enables the club accounts to be available at Companies House and makes it easier to access sponsorship and both public and private grant schemes.

The club is listed at Companies House as: ALTRINCHAM & DISTRICT ATHLETIC CLUB LIMITED
Company number 09442537

England Athletics has produced a set of Club Standards in line with legal legislation and the code of sports governance (Tier 1) set out by Sport England, this helps our club have policies and procedures for good governance and duty of care:

  • Good governance is the foundation of a well-run club. It protects the club’s values and reputation whilst looking after the club’s funds and people.
  • We have a duty of care towards our members and are responsible for ensuring all club activity is safe. Everyone has a role to play in keeping others safe. All club members should know what to do if they have any concerns.
